Best Practice Initiative

The Comprehensive Diabetes Control Program of the Michigan Department of Community Health has been designated as a "Community Best Practice model in public health" by the Assistant Secretary for Health, U. S. Department of Health and Human Services. The "Best Practices Initiative" is designed to share information about successful health programs across the country with health educators and health care providers in other states and localities. Specifically cited in the Assistant Secretary's designation was the success of Michigan's Diabetes Outreach Networks, which are funded by the Michigan Diabetes Control program.
